BROADSIDE AT O2 KENTISH TOWN FORUM: A WILD RIDE OF FUN, FUZZ, AND FEROCIOUS ENERGY

Updated: Mar 3

So, Broadside had a bit of a fashionably late entrance to the O2 Kentish Town Forum, but who cares when they’re about to unleash pure chaos? The crowd was buzzing, waiting for them to step on stage, and while they might have been running a bit behind schedule, they more than made up for it with their infectious energy and, let’s be real, the banter was top-tier.

They kicked things off with a bang – a song that instantly set the tone for the night: Stranger. It wasn’t just a song; it was a high-octane shot of adrenaline that got the crowd fired up and ready to rock. After the first song, they paused to thank the fans for their insane energy and then dropped the most epic line, “This next song is about fuckin’,” which already had everyone pumped. And guess what? They were not lying. The next track literally ramped up the energy even more.

By the time Dazed & Confused came blasting through the speakers, the crowd lost it. Seriously, it was like they unleashed some kind of musical spell – people went feral.

The vibe stayed strong throughout with tracks like Heavenly, Coffee Talk, and One Last Time, each one getting the crowd more and more riled up. Broadside really knows how to work a crowd, and this set was no exception. There was so much energy bouncing around the room, it felt like the floor was vibrating from the sheer power of everyone jumping in sync.

Then came Cruel, and that’s when things got even more electric. Brian Butcher from The Home Team joined the chaos, and it was like the whole room just exploded with excitement. What followed was The Raging Sea (which, I don’t know how they packed more energy into that song, but they did) and then the absolute anthem that is Foolish Believer. By the end of it all, I was convinced if the walls weren’t sweating, they were at least grooving along.

Now, here’s the bummer: they’re not planning to return to the UK anytime soon (cue collective groan), but honestly, after seeing them bring that much energy to a stage, I’m really hoping they make a swift comeback. It’s too good to be a one-off.

In short, Broadside are a vibe. If you haven’t seen them live yet, what are you doing? This show was proof that they’re not just a band; they’re an experience. And if they’re ever back in the UK, get yourself there. It’s going to be another hell of a ride. 10/10!
